Stephen Laurance

Vice President, Financial Management and Accounting Solutions

Mr. Laurance serves as the Vice President for Financial Management & Accounting Solutions (FMAS). This business unit represents our largest core business offering for KGS and currently supports a wide range of DoD, DHS, and other federal customers. Services performed include Audit Readiness, Budget functions, OMB A-123, Appendix A, implementations for Internal Control over Financial Reporting, Cost Accounting, Financial Systems improvement, Foreign Military Sales Support, and a range of other financial management efforts.

Mr. Laurance originally joined KGS as the Vice President for Enterprise Performance Management in June 2007 to lead and oversee KGS's program management, Six Sigma, performance measurement, information assurance/information security, finance & accounting systems, and logistics functions. This Division was the fastest growing Division for 2008 and provided critical support to DoD, DHS and other federal customers focused on performance improvement and management support functions.

Prior to joining KGS, Mr. Laurance was an Assistant Vice President for Finance & Accounting with the BRADSON CORPORATION, with responsibility for client relationships with two major clients and profit and loss responsibility for 54 personnel on these engagements. During his leadership one of his clients achieved two consecutive unqualified (clean) audit opinions and these projects continued to expand to address systems implementation planning and other new client needs.

Before joining BRADSON CORPORATION, Mr. Laurance had a distinguished 24-year career with the United States Army. Mr. Laurance served both as an Officer and as an Enlisted Soldier over his career and held positions of responsibility for security and investigations and later as a Comptroller. Mr. Laurance's roles included criminal investigations as a Special Agent for the Army Criminal Investigations Division (CID); tactical security operations, operations planning, command within the Army Military Police Corps; Budget Analyst for Contingency Operations, Army Central Command (ARCENT); and Budget Officer for the Counternarcotics and Counterterrorism Budget for U.S. Southern Command. Mr. Laurance's career included service in over ten different countries and included Operation Joint Endeavor, Operation Southern Watch, and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Mr. Laurance holds a Master's of Business Administration and a Master's of Arts in Public Administration from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, and a Bachelor's degree in Management from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama. Mr. Laurance also attended the National Security Management Course at the Maxwell School , Syracuse University while serving as a National Security fellow with that program. Mr. Laurance is a graduate of the Joint Staff Officers College, Norfolk, Virginia; the Army Command and Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS; the Joint Planner Course, Fort Leavenworth, KS; the Professional Military Comptroller School, Maxwell AFB, AL; the Officer's Advanced Course; the Protective Services Course; and the Army Criminal Investigations Course; and the Advanced Fraud Investigations Course.
