Larry Huffman

Senior Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Larry Huffman joined KGS as the Senior Vice President Business Development in April 2010. He leads and oversees all of KGS’s Business Development, Capture and Proposal activities including reviewing and establishing teaming and marketing strategies, and managing the team of BD professional associates.

Prior to joining KGS, Mr. Huffman was the Vice President of Marketing and Sales Support for the engineering firm Project Time & Cost in Atlanta GA, with the responsibility for Marketing and Sales Support. As the strategic leader for $52M+ engineering firm, he was charged with ensuring the company’s marketing and sales support functions assumed leading roles in meeting the company’s out years strategic plan and vision, expanding in to new Federal Government and the U.S. Department of Defense agencies through strategic planning and execution.

Prior to joining PT&C, Mr. Huffman has had a highly successful and distinguished career spanning over thirty (30) years in various positions within the Federal Government High Tech IT industry, with over twenty (20) of those years at CSC. Throughout his career, Mr. Huffman has been involved in and a leader in business development, successfully pursuing billions of dollars in new contracts with the US Government Defense and Civil agencies. The largest win Larry participated in was in excess of $2 billion dollars for a single government contract.

He has held positions as a procurement official, contracts / subcontracts director, director and vice president of new business development and capture management and director of proposal support for CSC’s Defense Group. He has successfully installed new teams, tools, infrastructure, and processes supporting BD, Capture and Proposal operations in several companies within our industry including CSC Defense and Civil Groups, Northrop Grumman IT, SI International, MTC Technologies and PT&C each time improving win rates, establishing BD and capture processes, and improving proposal quality and production capacity.

Larry’s career has included time in the field as both a technician delivering specific customer contracted requirements and as a member of key management teams working in satellite offices directly supporting specific government contracts. Larry’s combined field and executive experience gives him a unique perspective and understanding of the various disciplines involved in successfully identifying, qualifying, bidding, winning, and executing government contracted programs and tasks.
