Glen D. Shaffer

Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Glen D. Shaffer, Maj Gen, USAF (Ret) is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for KGS. Glen is responsible for leading our company's operations, programs and plans and ensures we remain our customer's best partner. He sets key operational, technical, and development goals and manages the ways we achieve them. He builds teams within the company and establishes key relationships with others. Most importantly, he is one member of a fully integrated leadership team at KGS. Glen was previously the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of dNovus RDI which was acquired by Kforce in December 2008 and integrated into KGS.

He joined the private sector in the fall of 2003 after serving 33 years in the United States Air Force (USAF), most of the time as an Intelligence Officer. His final assignment was the Director for Intelligence, J2, for the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) in Washington, D.C serving the United States Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), the Chairman and the JCS. Prior to that he was the Director of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, responsible for all USAF ISR and Information Warfare systems and operations and was the USAF's Senior Intelligence Officer in the National Intelligence Community. His other General Office Assignments included Assistant Deputy Director for Operations at the National Security Agency and Director of Intelligence, J-2, HQ U.S. European Command.

Glen was the first Commander of the European Command's Joint Analysis Center (JAC) and also commander the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC). Earlier assignments included multiple Strategic Air Command (SAC) Bomb Wings, HQ Tactical Air Command, HQ Strategic Air Command and HQ US Atlantic Command. He pioneered early targeting capabilities against Soviet mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and was a Tomahawk Cruise Missile planner for the Navy, leading several major weapon system improvements.

Shaffer received his commission in the United States Air Force in 1970 as a distinguished graduate of Otterbein College's Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program. He attended National War College in residence in 1990 and also holds a Master of Science Degree from the George Washington University. He is active in several National Intelligence Community advisory forums.
